Dr. Leonard Jeffries, Jr.
Leonard Jeffries is a founding director and current second vice president of the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations. He is Professor of Africana Studies and former chairman of the Department of Black Studies at the City College of New York. He served as president of the African Heritage Studies Association and an editorial advisor to the Journal of African Civilizations. He has traveled extensively in Africa where he did field research for his doctorate in African Studies and Political Science at Columbia University.
